Europe 2020 Strategy is the successor of the Lisbon Strategy. The main goal of the Europe 2020 strategy is to foster growth and jobs in the EU as a whole and in every EU Member State. The Europe 2020 strategy has three broad priorities: smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Headline targets of the Europe 2020 strategy had been set to implement these priorities. These targets are related to employment, research and development (R&D), energy and climate change, education and social policy areas. Europe 2020 Strategy is based on Integrated Guidelines that should be taken into account by the EU Member States in developing the National Reform Programmes for the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy.
