On November 13, Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis met with the Czech Ambassador to Latvia, Martin Vítek. During the visit, representatives of both countries discussed bilateral cooperation and its prospects, including collaboration in the machinery and space sectors.

During the talks, both sides acknowledged the significant potential to further develop mutual cooperation across various industries.

“Latvia and the Czech Republic have implemented several successful investment and cooperation projects in sectors such as machinery, energy, and mobility. Looking ahead, we recognize the need for close collaboration to promote a more balanced and mutually beneficial economic partnership. Latvia and the Czech Republic have the opportunity to build a strong bilateral partnership characterized by stable trade and investment flows,” emphasized Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis.

During the discussions, V. Valainis encouraged Czech companies to consider strategic cooperation opportunities in various sectors, such as machinery, research, and space, where there is substantial potential for mutually beneficial collaboration.

The Minister also positively noted the participation of Czech companies in the “Tech Industry” event and the interest of Škoda Group in expanding its business in Latvia. Such events highlight broader cooperation opportunities between the two countries in machinery and related sectors.

Additionally, the representatives of both countries agreed to organize a joint meeting of business and senior government delegations next year to further develop bilateral cooperation. Regular delegation visits and sectoral meetings confirm a strong commitment to continue deepening and expanding economic collaboration between Latvia and the Czech Republic.
