On April 8th, the shareholders' meeting of AS "Latvenergo" appointed Rodžers Jānis Grigulis as a member of the Latvenergo board for a five-year term, with the selection committee established by the State Chancellery recognizing him as the most suitable candidate. Aigars Laizāns, Kaspars Rokens, Toms Siliņš, and Gundars Ruža continue to serve on the AS "Latvenergo" board. All members of the AS "Latvenergo" board meet the criteria for independent board members.
R.J. Grigulis has previously served as a board member of VAS "Latvijas dzelzceļš" and, from 2017 to 2024, was the chairman of the board of AS "Pasažieru vilciens." Grigulis has more than 25 years of management experience across various business sectors and in both private and public companies of different sizes.
Rodžers Jānis Grigulis has led companies in territorial planning, construction, manufacturing, business consulting, and tourism industries, providing financial management, business strategy development, logistics management, and EU structural fund acquisition processes. He has also been involved in implementing international investment and development projects in logistics and international trade, collaborating with partners from the Middle East, CIS, Latin America, and the United States.
He holds a master's degree in social sciences in management from the Department of International Economic Relations at the University of Latvia and has also studied international business, marketing, and competition at the Sorbonne University in France.
Since 1999, R.J. Grigulis has been the founder and vice president of the U.S. non-governmental organization "Kids First Fund," where several well-known enthusiasts from Latvia and America work without remuneration. He also serves as the fund’s representative at the UN.
Grigulis has been a member of the Baltic Corporate Governance Institute since 2020. Rodžers Jānis Grigulis is fluent in 7 languages.
