The Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of Climate and Energy, and the Latvian Union of Civil Engineers announce the annual competition "Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia 2025".

"The 'Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia' competition has been held for 15 years, proving that it is a stable and highly anticipated event in the industry. It is an opportunity to highlight builders, architects, and other participants in the construction process who ensure responsible, sustainable, rational, and economically justified construction, setting an example for others. The competition also provides a boost to the local economy by creating demand for modern materials, such as high-quality industrially produced wooden frame panels," emphasized Minister of Economics, Viktors Valainis.

Kaspars Melnis, Minister of Climate and Energy: "There is still much to be done in the field of building energy efficiency, and I hope that the new support instruments for the use of industrially produced panels in building renovations or the quarter renovation approach will provide an additional push for the renovation of aging buildings. The competition will highlight the best renovation examples in Latvia and provide further motivation for new participants to join the building restoration program. This will help reduce excessive energy losses and costs for energy resources."

Helēna Endriksone, First Vice-President of the Latvian Union of Civil Engineers: "The main goal of the 'Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia' competition is to promote the showcasing of good practice examples in the field of energy efficiency. With this initiative, we thank those who confidently invest in energy-efficient buildings and serve as an inspiring example for others."

The "Most Energy Efficient Building in Latvia" competition is organized as part of the "Live Warmer" campaign. The aim of the campaign is to promote best practices in the field of building energy efficiency and sustainability by implementing energy-efficient construction, renovation, and reconstruction of buildings, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and increasing public awareness of well-being, building thermal insulation, indoor climate, as well as the importance and possibilities of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to create a high-quality, architecturally expressive living space.
