What are the different experiences and practices in the Baltic Sea region in financing energy efficiency? Which financial schemes are used and what energy efficiency solutions are applied? How can the transition to a carbon-free economy be accelerated in a cost-effective way? Can it be done by financing green investments?

 

Ministry of Economics of Latvia (as the Policy Area Energy coordinator of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region) is organizing a regional seminar “Financing the Future of Energy Efficiency”, in Riga, Latvia on 5th October 2017.

 

The event is organized in a close collaboration with Baltic Development Forum and the Council of the Baltic Sea States/Baltic 2030 (Horizontal Action Climate coordinator of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region).

 

The aim of the seminar is to address different solutions for the green investment financing to stimulate the transition to a carbon free economy in a cost-effective way. Experts from the Baltic Sea region will share their practices, experiences and different viewpoints on how to exploit energy efficiency potential using various solutions and schemes. These include the European policy perspective as well as the perspective of financial institutions, banks and industry.

 

To evaluate and to find the best possible solutions to the existing challenges with the financing schemes, best practices on financing energy efficient solutions, including ESCO models, will be shared.
