The Latvian electricity market has been fully liberalized since 1 January 2015. According to the Electricity Market Law, households as well as legal users are free to choose an electricity supplier by agreeing on the price of electricity. Register of Electricity Suppliers of the Public Utilities Commission has 42 registered electricity suppliers as of August 2020.
