The goal of activity - receive broader information about economies long-term development directions and from them resulting trends in demanded skills by sectors, as well as to identify possible future risks, which could be related to economic restructuring and changes in skills demanded, labor aging, labor profesional and geograpfical mobility.
In this activity two surveys about labor market development questions are concluded:
- economic sectors survey. Goal - receive different kind of opinion from diferent economic sectors' representatives about long-term development trends in different sectors, about predicted labor demand changes, about formation of new skill demand, as well as labor aging trends in different sectors. Main results - total 225 interviews with high level company directors, sector experts and asociations representatives, as well as 3500 phone interviews in 45 sectors. Obtained valuation about 45 sectors' development trens and with them related labor demand changes, as well as identified future labor market risks and expected problems and their possible solutions;
- economic's expert survey. Goal - from Latvian and foreign experts receive opinion about Latvia's and global economies, especially, European Union, current development trends, current situation and possible development directions in middle and lon term, as well as to find out, how these trends have impacted and in future will impact the situation in labor market. Main results - 40 in-depth interviews were concluded with Latvian and foregn sector experts. Experts' opinion is received and it constructs future economic development trends in Latvia and overall EU. More widely discussed are questions, which are related with future labor demand, accessability and expected problems in labor market and their possible solutions.
